सहस्रयुगपर्यन्तमहर्यद्ब्रह्मणो विदु: |
रात्रिं युगसहस्रान्तां तेऽहोरात्रविदो जना: || 17||
sahasrayugaparyantamaharyadbrahmaṇō viduḥ ।
rātriṃ yugasahasrāntāṃ tēhōrātravidō janāḥ ॥ 17 ॥
ब्रह्माका जो एक दिन है, उसको एक हजार चतुर्युगीतककी अवधिवाला और रात्रिको भी एक हजार चतुर्युगीतककी अवधिवाली जो पुरुष तत्त्वसे जानते हैं, वे योगीजन कालके तत्त्वको जाननेवाले हैं|
Those who knows that Brahma’s (the Supreme Creator) one day lasts 1,000 yugas and one night ends 1,000 yugus, truly know the essence of time.
अव्यक्ताद्व्यक्तय: सर्वा: प्रभवन्त्यहरागमे |
रात्र्यागमे प्रलीयन्ते तत्रैवाव्यक्तसञ्ज्ञके || 18||
avyaktādvyaktayaḥ sarvāḥ prabhavantyaharāgamē ।
rātryāgamē pralīyantē tatraivāvyaktasañjñakē ॥ 18 ॥
सम्पूर्ण चराचर भूतगण ब्रह्माके दिनके प्रवेशकालमें अव्यक्तसे अर्थात् ब्रह्माके सूक्ष्म शरीरसे उत्पन्न होते हैं और ब्रह्माकी रात्रिके प्रवेशकालमें उस अव्यक्त नामक ब्रह्माके सूक्ष्मशरीरमें ही लीन हो जाते हैं|
Dear Arjuna, try to understand that all that is visible in this world comes out from within Brahma (Creator of the world) at the start of his day.
At the start of Brahma’s night, all that is visible in this world goes back in Brahma.
भूतग्राम: स एवायं भूत्वा भूत्वा प्रलीयते |
रात्र्यागमेऽवश: पार्थ प्रभवत्यहरागमे || 19||
bhūtagrāmaḥ sa ēvāyaṃ bhūtvā bhūtvā pralīyatē ।
rātryāgamēvaśaḥ pārtha prabhavatyaharāgamē ॥ 19 ॥
हे पार्थ! वही यह भूतसमुदाय उत्पन्न हो होकर प्रकृतिके वशमें हुआ रात्रिके प्रवेशकालमें लीन होता है और दिनके प्रवेशकालमें फिर उत्पन्न होता है|
O Arjuna, all beings in this world, by the force of their nature, are born again and again, and dissolve repeatedly as well. They perish and join Brahma at the start of his night, and are born again at the start of his day.
परस्तस्मात्तु भावोऽन्योऽव्यक्तोऽव्यक्तात्सनातन: |
य: स सर्वेषु भूतेषु नश्यत्सु न विनश्यति || 20||
parastasmāttu bhāvōnyōvyaktōvyaktātsanātanaḥ ।
yaḥ sa sarvēṣu bhūtēṣu naśyatsu na vinaśyati ॥ 20 ॥
उस अव्यक्तसे भी अति परे दूसरा अर्थात् विलक्षण जो सनातन अव्यक्तभाव है, वह परम दिव्य पुरुष सब भूतोंके नष्ट होनेपर भी नष्ट नहीं होता|
O Arjuna, one should always remember that there is a path that leads out of this cycle and into a world of eternal unmanifest, where one is never subject to being born, destroyed and reborn again.
It is a world of immortality in which one lives forever in peace and eternal happiness.
अव्यक्तोऽक्षर इत्युक्तस्तमाहु: परमां गतिम् |
यं प्राप्य न निवर्तन्ते तद्धाम परमं मम || 21||
avyaktōkṣara ityuktastamāhuḥ paramāṃ gatim ।
yaṃ prāpya na nivartantē taddhāma paramaṃ mama ॥ 21 ॥
जो अव्यक्त ‘अक्षर’ इस नामसे कहा गया है, उसी अक्षर नामक अव्यक्तभावको परमगति कहते हैं तथा जिस सनातन अव्यक्तभावको प्राप्त होकर मनुष्य वापस नहीं आते, वह मेरा परम धाम है|
The unmanifest (uncreated) is eternal and indestructible, O son of Kunti, and is the ultimate goal for all beings to achieve.When one has finally reached this ultimate goal, he does not come back into this world of temporary pleasure and misery. He achieves supreme bliss, peace and contentment. He then lives forever in My Supreme Abode.
