श्रीभगवानुवाच |
मय्यासक्तमना: पार्थ योगं युञ्जन्मदाश्रय: |
असंशयं समग्रं मां यथा ज्ञास्यसि तच्छृणु || 1||
Sri Bhagavan Uvacha ।
mayyāsaktamanāḥ pārtha yōgaṃ yuñjanmadāśrayaḥ ।
asaṃśayaṃ samagraṃ māṃ yathā jñāsyasi tachChṛṇu ॥ 1 ॥
श्रीभगवान् बोले-हे पार्थ ! अनन्यप्रेमसे मुझमें आसक्तचित्त तथा अनन्यभावसे मेरे परायण होकर योगमें लगा हुआ तू जिस प्रकार से सम्पूर्ण विभूति, बल, ऐश्वर्यादि गुणोंसे युक्त, सबके आत्मरूप मुझको संशयरहित जानेगा, उसको सुन|
Lord Krishna further explained: Dear Arjuna, with your mind fully absorbed in thoughts of Me and in the practice of Yoga as well, with total reliance on Me alone, listen to the secret of how to really know Me in entirety.
ज्ञानं तेऽहं सविज्ञानमिदं वक्ष्याम्यशेषत: |
यज्ज्ञात्वा नेह भूयोऽन्यज्ज्ञातव्यमवशिष्यते || 2||
jñānaṃ tēhaṃ savijñānamidaṃ vakṣyāmyaśēṣataḥ ।
yajjñātvā nēha bhūyōnyajjñātavyamavaśiṣyatē ॥ 2 ॥
मैं तेरे लिये इस विज्ञानसहित तत्त्वज्ञानको सम्पूर्णतया कहूँगा, जिसको जानकर संसारमें फिर और कुछ भी जाननेयोग्य शेष नहीं रह जाता|
After I divulge this secret to you, the knowledge you will have attained from this secret of the Supreme (God) will make all other knowledge seem worthless for you, O Arjuna.
मनुष्याणां सहस्रेषु कश्चिद्यतति सिद्धये |
यततामपि सिद्धानां कश्चिन्मां वेत्ति तत्त्वत: || 3||
manuṣyāṇāṃ sahasrēṣu kaśchidyatati siddhayē ।
yatatāmapi siddhānāṃ kaśchinmāṃ vētti tattvataḥ ॥ 3 ॥
हजारों मनुष्यों में कोई एक मेरी प्राप्तिके लिये यत्न करता है और उन यत्न करनेवाले योगियों में भी कोई एक मेरे परायण होकर मुझको तत्त्वसे अर्थात् यथार्थरूपसे जानता है |
It is very difficult to know Me fully in reality, dear Arjuna. Out of thousands of people, only a few special ones (Yogis or divine devotees) try to realize Me. Even out of those perfect people trying to realize Me, only a few succeed in doing so. Hardly anybody know My reality.
भूमिरापोऽनलो वायु: खं मनो बुद्धिरेव च |
अहङ्कार इतीयं मे भिन्ना प्रकृतिरष्टधा || 4||
bhūmirāpōnalō vāyuḥ khaṃ manō buddhirēva cha ।
ahaṅkāra itīyaṃ mē bhinnā prakṛtiraṣṭadhā ॥ 4 ॥
अपरेयमितस्त्वन्यां प्रकृतिं विद्धि मे पराम् |
जीवभूतां महाबाहो ययेदं धार्यते जगत् || 5||
aparēyamitastvanyāṃ prakṛtiṃ viddhi mē parām ।
jīvabhūtāṃ mahābāhō yayēdaṃ dhāryatē jagat ॥ 5 ॥
पृथ्वी, जल, अग्नि, वायु, आकाश, मन, बुद्धि और अहंकार भी — इस प्रकार यह आठ प्रकारसे विभाजित मेरी – प्रकृति है । यह आठ प्रकारके भेदोंवाली तो अपरा अर्थात् मेरी जड़ प्रकृति है और हे महाबाहो ! इससे दूसरीको, जिससे यह सम्पूर्ण जगत् धारण किया जाता है, मेरीजीवरूपा परा अर्थात् चेतन प्रकृति जान
My nature,dear Arjuna, is formed by eight elements, namely, earth, fire, wind, water, sky, mind, intellect and ego. O Arjuna, understand that the elements I have just mentioned to you are only part of My lower nature. The other part of Me is My higher nature, which preserves the universe.
एतद्योनीनि भूतानि सर्वाणीत्युपधारय |
अहं कृत्स्नस्य जगत: प्रभव: प्रलयस्तथा || 6||
ētadyōnīni bhūtāni sarvāṇītyupadhāraya ।
ahaṃ kṛtsnasya jagataḥ prabhavaḥ pralayastathā ॥ 6 ॥
हे अर्जुन ! तू ऐसा समझ कि सम्पूर्ण भूत इन दोनों प्रकृतियोंसे ही उत्पन्न होनेवाले हैं और मैं सम्पूर्ण जगत्का प्रभव तथा प्रलय हूँ अर्थात् सम्पूर्ण जगत्का मूलकारण हूँ|
The Lord spoke solemnly: O Arjuna, you must understand that I have created all beings in these two aspects of my nature. Arjuna, Know Me as both the creator and the destroyer of the world.
